Puppy Hour at Ska Brewing!
October 19, 2018 @ 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm
What’s better than meeting some puppies and drinking some pints? It’s the perfect Durango combo.
Come by Ska Brewing and meet our first round of canine participants in our newest program, “LPCHS Pittie Commitee: Breed Ambassador Program”!
These lucky puppies were selected and are currently with their momma in a foster home getting their first evaluations and beginning early puppy training.
**This is an informational event. The puppies are not available for adoption or to be put on hold yet!**
~Objectives of the Breed Ambassador Program~
-Decreasing the number of pitties* returned to shelters
-Increasing the visibility of well trained pitties* in the community
-Ending breed bias through education and conscious rehoming
What does it take to participate/ adopt one of these special puppies?
-An approved application and interview.
-Attending 6 training classes (FREE)
-Achieving a passing score on the Canine Good Citizen Test (FREE)
-Being an ambassador against breed bias
-Attending 6 month and 1 year reunion celebration
-$300 deposit- refundable after ALL commitments are met
Our hope is that this program will not only help us meet our objectives, but also provide a special opportunity for local families to help change the public’s perception about breed bias (and simultaneously end up with a super good, well trained doggo!)
**we acknowledge that the term “pitbull” or “pittie” is not a definitive breed. In order to help the dogs who are most affected by breed bias and breed specific legislation we use it to refer to “dogs who could possibly resemble american pitbull terriers”**
**This is an informational event. The puppies are not available for adoption or to be put on hold yet!**
