Protecting Pets in La Plata County since 1971.

Help us help them; one paw at a time.

Fetch the Future

Every dog deserves the chance to stretch their legs, feel the grass under their paws, and play without limits. At our shelter, outdoor time isn’t just a treat—it’s essential for their health, happiness, and socialization. Our current play yards are worn and outdated, making it harder to give our dogs the safe, enriching space they need.

With new play yards, our dogs will have secure, well-designed areas to run, play, and interact—helping them burn off energy, reduce stress, and show potential adopters their true personalities. A happy, relaxed dog is more likely to find a forever home.

Right now, we have an incredible opportunity—a $125,000 matching gift challenge. We’ve already raised $76,530, and every additional dollar will be doubled! That means your gift will go twice as far in giving shelter dogs a better quality of life while they wait for theirs.

Together, we can create a space filled with wagging tails, joyful zoomies, and the hope of a brighter future.
