The Blessing of the Animals
🐾 The Blessing of Animals
Join St. Columba Catholic Church for The Blessing of Animals, a special celebration held in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and ecology.
Bring your beloved pets—large or small!—to receive a special group blessing as we celebrate and give thanks for the animals who enrich our lives.

(Across from St. Columba Church)❤️ Support Shelter Pets While You’re There
St. Columba will also be hosting a donation drive benefiting La Plata County Humane Society. Community members are encouraged to bring pet food, toys, blankets, litter, or other shelter wish-list items.
Suggested donations include:
KMR Puppy Kitten Formula
Dog and cat treats
Cat toys & puppy chew toys
The event will also feature a Pet Stewardship Table, where attendees can learn more about caring for their pets and being good stewards of God’s creation.
For everyone’s safety and comfort: Dogs must be kept on a secure leash, while cats and small pets should remain in carriers. Please maintain space between pets and be respectful of others. If your pet is nervous or reactive, please let event organizers know.
Come celebrate the special animals in our lives, give thanks for the joy they bring us, and help support pets in need in our community. 🐶🐱🐰🦜❤️
